"Windows of the world" - project

"The eye is the window to the soul.

The window is the soul of the House.

Through the eye of the photographer, the window will be the home of the soul."

The project: "Windows of the world" is a concept that is subject to strict guidelines. (The window should be always centered in the right half of the image and the environment should be uniform as far as possible) However, sometimes these policies be exceeded if the photo is more interesting and can be integrated in the series. The differences of the Windows are better visible by this concept.

The selected window must not be necessary the typical window of a place. The photographer likes old and dilapidated windows more than new characterless windows.

This series had started by chance on a trip to South Africa 1999. Then it continued sporadically and on a year-long trip to South America and Antarctica it led then to continue. Therefore, first of the photos were created during this period (2002-03). These photos can be found in the own subpage: Windows of South America.

The photos from Europe and all around the world can be found in the other subpages. There will be added some windows all the time, because the project is continuously extending.

The windows were photographed exclusively by David Brandenberger.

The photos are minimized for the Website only and don’t rely to the high quality of the original photos!
