Explanation:

This is another of King David's psalms from the Bible that I have set to music. The song consists of only one chord, the major 6/9, which changes its pitch. (There are only shown the frets to be played). I happened to copy the chord from a TV show of the singer Caterina Valente. The intro and interlude is reminiscent of the Rio carnival and contrasts with the casual Bossanova.

Herr!

Ich denke nicht zu hoch von mir,

auf keinen schaue ich herab.

Ich frage nicht nach weitgestreckten Zielen,

die unerreichbar für mich wären.

 

Nein, still und ruhig ist mein Herz,

so wie ein sattes Kind im Arm der Mutter –

still wie ein solches Kind bin ich geworden.

Erklärung:

Dies ist ein weiterer Psalm von König David aus der Bibel, den ich vertont habe. Das Lied besteht aus nur einem Akkord, dem Major 6/9, welcher die Tonlage wechselt. (Darum sind nur die zu spielenden Bünde angegeben). Den Akkord habe ich zufällig bei einer Fernsehshow der Sängerin Caterina Valente abge-schaut. Das Intro und Zwischenspiel erinnert stark an den Karneval in Rio und setzt ein Kontrast zum legeren Bossanova.
