Gott i möcht Diar danka

This is the only Song written in Swissgerman in the dialect of Grisun. That's why the German and English translation is both beside.

Kinderloblied in G-Dur

Gott ich möchte Dir danken

Ich stehe am Morgen auf

und mir fehlt der nötige Schnauf

Ich bin ein Morgenmuffel

und sonst auch ein Schussel

Doch das ist Dir völlig egal

denn Du liebst mich wie ich bin

Gott ich möchte Dir danken

- Danke, Danke, Danke

Children's Worshipsong in G-Major

I want to thank you God

I get up in the morning

and I'm missing the necessary breathing

I'm not a morning person

and also a scatterbrain

But you don't care about that

because you love me as I am

God I want to thank you

-Thank you, thank you, thank you

-for the healthy and the sick

-for the cake and butter

-that you accept me, as I am how I am.

I'm slow at the uptake

and don't get it.

I grow more in the with

and do not look good

But you don't care about that

because you love me as I am

I am all thumbs

and much goes wrong.

I play in any band

and I sing also wrong.

But you don't care about that

because you love me as I am

Explanation:

The only song in the Grisons dialect is a hymn of praise for children to sing along to. The song is therefore very simple. It's about the unconditional love of God and the acceptance of God no matter how you look and what you can or can't do.
